Continuum

hi everyone

I am writing this minutes after finally shifting into ISI. For four days we went around the area and the city as such. I absolutely loved the city especially for the food. It really is a city of contradictions as the cliche goes; grinding poverty next to pecuniary and cultural wealth. There are different layers to this city and examining each will require time. One thing must be said though, the people here are very nice underneath that somewhat tough exterior.

As for ISI my room is nice. It even has a balcony. I haven’t met the students as yet but hopefully they should be fun. Classes start on the 18th and I am looking forward to that. A routine will bring some order to my somewhat chaotic state of mind. I have had some fantastic Bengali fish recently and that sort of a thing is going to eat away (pun intended!) my stipend eventually. Two days back I attended a seminar at the institute. It was pure theory, something I have always wanted to do more. So I am optimistic about my days here.

Anyway the adventure continues. All said and done I am missing all you guys but also eager to find out what lies ahead. I am feeling a bit like an explorer except that the territory to be explored is inside me.
